This « merci » card is my way of celebrating the last 3 years as a business owner! It will be available in the shop today! I’ve made it into a postcard because my work is relational and I absolutely love snail mail 🤓
 
The meaning behind this card:
🎂 to me the cake represents celebration and building. It’s also not lost on me that there are 3 layers = 3 years.
❤️ raspberries are my favourite berries, they represent making room for the sweetness of life and what brings me joy.
🦋 the butterfly symbolizes growth, transformation and beauty.
👩🏻‍🎨 the artist hanging his work represents the courage and dedication it takes to keep showing up when working towards my goals.
🌻 the sunflower represents my creativity and my passion for the work that I do as an art therapist (what drives me).
🧊 the icy bleu background represents clarity and vision.
 
You might have your own meaning for each of the elements, and that’s the beauty of art! We attribute meaning to various things in our life based on our lived experience, cultural background and beliefs. Art is a power modality that allows us to explore various symbols and metaphors. During an art therapy session, once you are done creating, I would ask you to describe the piece to me and would guide you in an exploration of the symbols you have shared. My job as an art therapist is to support you in making the connections, seeing the patterns and creating meaning.
